REGALIA PRINCE ARTHUR RID

Regalia Prince Arthur (aka Tristan) is rare in every way with something to offer every breeder:

  • Performance breeders will appreciate his athleticism, and ability to learn quickly.  Combined with his temperament which scored a perfect 20 at inspection, his foals promise to be wonderful competitors, companions and riding horses.
  • Purebred breeders will like everything - his rare bloodlines, temperament,  and traditional conformation all contained in a smaller size at 15.3. He is fully approved, having passed his inspection and all his foals are eligible for registration.  His pedigree is below the photos.

 

Regalia Prince Arthur was bred by Joan Miller of Regalia Irish Draughts in Cornwall, England and imported by Fox Hollow Sport Horses as a yearling.  His first three foals were born in 2009:  Padi's Granite Charm. Calum, and Brian.

To top it off, Regalia Prince Arthur  is a beautiful dun color complete with dorsal stripe and primitive markings.  This is a rare color in the Irish Draught and even more rarely seen as so many are grey which covers the dun.  Tristan has been genetically tested by UC Davis as a red dun. Test results are shown to the right.

Color genetics are a fascinating field of study.  Since many people are interested in what color their foal may be we had Tristan tested by UC Davis.  The results are:
 e/e Red Factor  Tristan will pass red (chestnut) to all his foals.
 A/a  Agouti  Black pigment distributed in points.  Tristan carries one copy of the Agouti gene and will pass it to 50% of his foals.
 G/N  Gray  Tristan carries one copy of the Gray gene and will pass it to 50% of his foals.
 D/N  Dun Zygosity  Tristan carries one copy of the Dun gene and will pass it to 50% of his foals.
 N/N  Cream Dilution  There is no evidence of altered Cream dilution sequence
